How we strengthened Gagnef Municipality's employer brand externally and internally

BACKGROUND

Gagnef is a sparsely populated municipality with just over 10,000 inhabitants. In 2022, they had many professions within support, care and healthcare that needed to be filled. The goal was to reach a large number of people with the right background to get them interested in a profession within healthcare in the municipality of Gagnef. Given the small municipality of Gagnef, we needed to reach out broadly geographically and attract people from other municipalities and areas to Gagnef.

SOLUTION

Employee Stories

To attract people from other geographical areas, we needed to demonstrate what makes Gagnef Municipality a good employer and highlight the benefits of working there. We did this through employee stories where employees in support, care and nursing in Gagnef Municipality themselves were allowed to talk about the profession and how they experience their workplace in recorded interviews. These were then cut into shorter video clips that were directed to social media.

Format

We used moving material with different lengths of video clips. First, a short version was targeted, as short videos generally perform best.

For those who had then watched the short version, a longer version was then released to continue engaging those who had already shown interest in the video.

RESULT

Strengthened employer brand externally

The ads have been seen by a large number of people, increasing awareness of the profession and workplace, while also giving potential candidates a face to their future colleagues to spark their interest in applying for a position within the Municipality of Gagnef.

Strengthened employer brand internally

In addition to attracting future talent, the ads have also contributed to a stronger employer brand internally. By making employees ambassadors and showcasing them externally, it has boosted morale from within while also being a fun thing to do with the team!
